AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination)
AVID is implemented in the classroom to encourage students to use strategies to help them be more organized, structured, and prepared in hopes to be more successful in the upcoming grade levels as well as be college and career ready.
Every student will have an AVID Binder and Planner.
AVID Binder will be used to house the following:
- School planner
- Notepaper
- Daily Homework
- Class notes & Class Work
The school planner will be used for the following:
- Copying down homework assignments
- Noting due dates and using it as a checklist for assignments, projects, and special dates for school events
- Students are encouraged to personalize their planner with their own dates to remember (friends’ birthdays, family parties, family birthdays, etc.)
* NOTE TO FAMILIES:
Please sign your child’s planner daily to signify that all homework assignments have been completed. You could also write questions/concerns/comments for me as well.
